With 6,600 exhibitors and area of 284,000 sqm Anuga remains one of the largest trade shows in the food sector anywhere in the world.
This year it was Italy’s turn to be the partner country and there were ca. 1,000 exhibitors from this country, making Italy again the largest foreign exhibiting country, by a long way.
Visitor numbers held up well this year with 150,000 guests coming to the show. In fact on Days 3 and 4, i.e. Monday and Tuesday, the exhibition halls were completely full and entering the showground was a logistical challenge. Most exhibitors we spoke to stressed that the show had outmatched their expectations and that they were extremely pleased with both numbers and quality of visitors to their booths. Much sharper focus this year was on “bio” products.
The show takes place every 2 years, the next one will take place again in 2013.
