Norris Thigpen Norris Thigpen is International Trade Manager at the South Carolina Department of Commerce. In this role he implements South Carolina export incentive programs in order to increase opportunities for South Carolina-based businesses in the international marketplace. He serves as the State Trade Expansion Project Director and is the past-Chairman of the South Carolina International Trade Coalition. Prior to joining the South Carolina Department of Commerce he spent eight years in Washington, DC, most recently at The Asia Foundation, working on economic and governance reform projects in Asia. Previously, Norris worked in the field of market research, conducting usability studies of commercial spaces as well as public perception polls and focus groups to support market and policy objectives. A South Carolina native, Norris holds a Master’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from George Mason University where he focused on globalization and East Asia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of South Carolina. |
